Low Pressure Conversions
Sedgman Prudentia was engaged to deliver three parallel projects at the Della, Tirrawarra and Gidgealpa satellite compressor stations as part of a broader strategy to enable lower inlet gas pressure operation across the Cooper Basin. Each site required the integration of standardised three-phase separator and screw compressor packages into existing facilities. Sedgman Prudentia managed the projects from concept through to execution, ensuring seamless integration into diverse site conditions and evolving third-party designs.

Scope
The projects involved detailed modification of existing plant and pipeline manifolds to support the new operating mode, including updates to handle lower pressure and higher velocity conditions. The scope also included condensate and water handling interfaces, emergency shutdown system modifications, and adaptation of standard plant designs to suit the specific requirements of each site. Sedgman Prudentia provided technical assurance and interface management as the third-party package designs evolved, ensuring that integration remained aligned with operational and safety requirements. The work required close coordination with multiple stakeholders and the production of staged deliverables to align with phased construction and tie-in schedules.
Outcome
All three compressor station upgrades were successfully delivered, forming the foundation for the client’s long-term transition to lower inlet pressure operation across the basin. Despite differing site constraints and evolving third-party inputs, Sedgman Prudentia delivered flexible, site-specific solutions while maintaining consistency across the program. The staged approach to engineering deliverables ensured smooth implementation and minimised disruption to ongoing operations.
