Scope
Ore mined from new and historical pits through a two-stage crushing circuit with High Pressure Grinding Roll (HPGR) to be agglomerated and conveyed and stacked utilising a series of grass-hopper conveyors on the Heap Leach pad. Following leaching the pregnant liquor undergoes carbon in column (CIC) absorption. The loaded carbon is then transferred to an elution circuit for stripping, followed by electrowinning and smelting in an on-site gold room.
The project was broken into discrete engineering and procurement packages with a focus on modular plant design to maximise offsite construction and allow Factory Acceptance Testing prior to site delivery where possible.
Outcome
Sedgman provided project management and engineering management services during the detailed design and procurement phases of the project and worked closely with Norton’s Senior Management team to provide key strategies for the subsequent site implementation phase.
