At Sedgman we are focused on including sustainability considerations in all we do – to improve our performance across the key areas of environment, social and governance (ESG).
Our Approach
As a part of the CIMIC Group, we are dedicated to achieving net zero emissions for Scope 1 (primarily fuels) and 2 (purchased electricity) by 2038, and net zero emissions for Scope 3 by 2045. CIMIC Group continues to rank among the best performing companies for sustainability.
Understanding the climate-related impacts of our work, and identifying solutions to reduce emissions, both in our operations and our designs is a part of our journey to get to net zero. We are reducing emissions by boosting energy productivity, reducing waste, supporting rehabilitation of degraded land, increasing the use of renewable energy and driving innovation.
We have a role to play in helping the UN achieve their Sustainable Development Goals and have aligned our ESG strategy to the areas that we can positively impact; through the way we deliver our designs, projects and services; the way we engage and support our employees; and how we manage our supply chains and invest in local community projects.
Our Strategy
- Our approach to sustainability and ESG is linked to our drive for innovation and our long history of design thinking. We are committed to driving down our own environmental impacts, and the impacts associated with our designs, while creating value for our employees, suppliers and local communities. Our strategy is focused on sustainable designs, services and delivery and putting people first, underpinned by strong governance.
