Sedgman has been appointed to lead the Scoping Study for Critica’s Jupiter Rare Earth Project in Western Australia, Australia’s largest known clay-hosted rare earth deposit.
Critica’s initiation of the Scoping Study marks a significant transition for the Jupiter Project, moving from technical validation into structured project definition and economic assessment. The study is designed to translate the project’s scale, beneficiation and refining performance and jurisdictional advantages into a defined, credible and capital-efficient development pathway, establishing a clear foundation for subsequent feasibility stages.
As lead study consultant, Sedgman will integrate the project’s beneficiation and refining flowsheet with mining and non-process infrastructure concepts to define a robust base-case development scenario. The Scoping Study will also establish baseline project economics, including key design inputs and initial capital and operating cost assumptions.
Sedgman is supported by Snowden-Optiro, providing specialist mining expertise, and SRK, responsible for the project’s resource update, forming a technically rigorous and execution-focused study team.
With extensive experience across rare earth developments in Australia and internationally, Sedgman has supported projects through study execution, piloting, flowsheet development, detailed engineering, construction and commissioning. This integrated capability, combined with end-to-end delivery experience, positions Sedgman to support Critica as it advances Jupiter along its mine-to-magnet development roadmap.
The Jupiter Scoping Study represents a key milestone in defining a clear and credible pathway for the project’s next phase of development.
