Sedgman undertook the design, procurement and construction (EPC) of this gold processing facility for Guyana Goldfields' flagship Aurora Project.
The project was delivered through a joint venture with leading South American constructor Graña y Montero (GyM). The GSJV joint venture combines Sedgman’s robust process and execution knowledge and operational experience with local capability depth from GyM.
Aurora is earmarked to produce 3.29 million ounces of gold, averaging 194,000 ounces per year, over an initial 17-year mine life. The scope of works included a 1.75 Mt/a processing plant, power station and integration management.
The Aurora Project award came on the back of Sedgman’s successful delivery of the Mungari Gold Project in Western Australia which achieved first gold pour in early 2014. It firms Sedgman’s reputation as a gold processing specialist.
The GSJV provided full process performance guarantees in a new location. We applied proven technology, strong commercial management and local experience to deliver the project on time, on budget and safely. This successful result has led to a strong relationship with the client and stakeholders.
