Managing Director
Grant was appointed as Managing Director in September 2017. During 23 years with CIMIC Group, Grant has held a number of senior management positions including EIC Activities General Manager, Thiess Sedgman Joint Venture Manager and most recently Thiess General Manager.Grant’s previous experience includes 18 years with Thiess where he was responsible for the delivery of engineering, procurement and construction projects. Grant has engineering and construction experience in the resources and energy industry, working on oil and gas and minerals processing projects globally. He has delivered major projects and demonstrated skills in strategy, business development, tendering and project delivery. -

Chief Financial Officer
Mitchell joined Sedgman in August 2016 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in December 2016. Mitchell is responsible for leading the Finance, Taxation, Information Systems Technology and Shared Services teams globally.Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from JCU, is a member of CPA Australia and has a Masters in Applied Finance from the University of Queensland. Mitchell has over 20 years’ finance experience across the construction, mining and services industries. Prior to joining Sedgman, he held various senior roles at Ventia and Thiess, where he was responsible for business planning and analysis, financial governance and compliance, financial risk management and business transformation. -

Vice President, North America
Carolyn joined Sedgman in 1994 and was appointed as Vice President in June 2021 and is responsible for leading the business in North America including Canada and the United States of America.Carolyn has extensive global experience in the resources sector working across North America periodically since 1999 covering gold, copper, mineral sands and numerous coal projects and operations. As a founding member of the Vancouver office in 2013, Carolyn has earned a respected reputation for her technical and innovative capabilities.
Carolyn has held various management and technical roles with Sedgman and has over 30 years' experience with a focus on technology development overseeing projects from concept through to detailed design and into operations.
Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Mineral Processing/University of Queensland) and is a registered Professional Engineer in Canada and Australia.

General Manager, Business Support
Cath joined Sedgman in 2019 and is responsible for the business support functions, including health safety, environment and quality (HSEQ), People and Communications. Cath has held various HSEQ senior management and technical roles with over 20 years of experience across the mining, construction and manufacturing sectors. She has a proven track record for delivering strong and sustainable gains in workplace health and safety globally.Prior to joining Sedgman, she was Global Director of HSE at ESCO Corporation and was responsible for health, safety, and environment functions across 23 countries. Cath has previously held roles at Thiess and the Thiess Sedgman Joint Venture.
Cath holds a Master of Health Science in Health, Safety and Environment (University of Queensland), Post Graduate Diploma of Health, Safety and Environment (University of Queensland) and Bachelor of Business Management (James Cook University).

David joined Sedgman in 2001 and was appointed as General Manager in June 2021 and is responsible for leading the business in Australia East.Prior to his current role, David held project development, engineering, execution and start up leadership roles. He has 30 years’ experience in the resource sector with a focus on building strong relationships and leading high-performance teams to solve complex challenges with value driven outcomes. He has extensive global commodity experience (coal, manganese, base metals, iron ore and gold) in several countries including Australia, Mongolia, Colombia, South Africa, Mozambique and New Zealand.
David holds a Bachelor of Science (University of Newcastle) and Post Graduate Diploma in Metallurgy (Curtin University of Technology) and is a Registered Professional Engineer (Metallurgical) in Queensland.

General Manager, Operations
Jeremy joined Sedgman in 2009 and was appointed as General Manager in June 2021. He leads operations development and delivery. Jeremy has extensive maintenance and production experience, with the majority encapsulating a processing focus across both metalliferous and coal industries.Prior to his current role, Jeremy held the role of Group Manager Operations and effectively managed resources accountable for the safe delivery and execution of the operational and maintenance contracts within Sedgman. Prior to joining Sedgman, Jeremy held operations leadership roles at BMA Norwich Park Mine, WMC Phosphate Hill and Olympic Dam mines. He has demonstrated a unique blend of management competencies and technical skills that helped to drive strategy and business planning cycles.
Jeremy possesses an MBA degree (Southern Cross University), a Bachelor of Commercial Law and Finance degree (University of Sothern Queensland) and a Graduate Diploma of Engineering (University of New South Wales).

Jordan joined Sedgman in March 2018 and is responsible for leading project delivery and procurement across Australia East, Australia West and North America. Jordan has been with the CIMIC Group for the last 15 years.Prior to his current role, Jordan held project leadership roles with Thiess and CPB Contractors including various Thiess Sedgman Joint Ventures, Queensland Curtis LNG Upstream, and Australia Pacific LNG Collaborative Well projects.
Jordan has a proven track record delivering complex multidisciplinary resource projects. Since joining Sedgman he has been responsible for leading strategic actions critical to improving Sedgman’s project delivery capability and performance. He has a passion for building strong client relationships and exceeding client expectations and objectives. He has achieved excellent safety outcomes through safety leadership and has demonstrated skills in developing and leading high performing teams.
Jordan holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (University of Queensland) and Masters of Engineering Science, majoring in Project Management (University of New South Wales).

Steve van Barneveld BE (Min Tech)(Hons)

Steve re-joined Sedgman in 2016 having worked for the company previously from 1987 to 2010. Steve is responsible for leading the business in Australia West.Steve has more than 35 years’ experience across the resources and infrastructure sectors internationally. His experience at Sedgman includes roles as General Manager, Strategy and Growth; Chief Operating Officer; and Principal Engineer. From 2013 to 2016 he worked as a consultant for Sedgman and focused on the development of key projects to build our reputation and experience in the Americas and Southern Africa. Between 2006 until 2010 Steve was responsible for the successful delivery of studies, engineering, projects and operations in Australia and the diversification of services into Africa, Mongolia and South America.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Minerals Technology (University of Otago) and is a Non-Executive Director of Jameson Resources Limited (ASX:JAL).

General Counsel and Company Secretary
Dan joined Sedgman in September 2020 and was appointed as General Counsel and Company Secretary in April 2021. Dan oversees the legal and company secretarial functions of Sedgman. He is an experienced mining and construction lawyer with substantial industry experience, having begun his career as a mine geologist, working in open cut and underground gold and nickel mines.Dan has 17 years of diverse top tier private practice, commercial and in-house legal experience across the construction and resources sectors both on the owner’s and contractor’s sides, including roles at other CIMIC Group companies, CPB Contractors and Thiess, premier law firm Allens Linklaters, as well as Peabody Energy and Elphinstone Group. Dan has negotiated several large and complex mining services and Engineer, Procure and Construct contracts in the resources sector and is known for his pragmatic approach and strong leadership.

Luanne joined Sedgman in May 2007 and was appointed General Manager, People & Capability in January 2023. Luanne is responsible for leading the People & Capability teams globally.Luanne has more than 15 years of experience in the resources industry, and over 20 years in Human Resources roles. She has built on her foundation of people experience to target fit-for-purpose solutions, strategic direction and support that delivers short and long-term value for all stakeholders across multiple regions and countries.
Luanne holds a Master of Business Administration (AIB), Graduate Diploma of Management (AIB), Advanced Diploma of Management (Human Resources, AIM), Australian Fair Work Legislation and Employment Law CPD Certified and JEMS 21 (Job Analysis and Evaluation, Mercer Human Resource Consulting). Luanne is a Member of the Australian Institute of Management, the Australian Institute of Business, and the Australian HR Institute.
