Applications and Position Profiles
Sedgman uses an e-recruitment system that allows us to track and respond to applications appropriately. We endeavour to respond to each application in a timely manner and we are happy to answer any questions relating to the opportunities in our organisation.
A person enquiring about or applying for a position with Sedgman may request a position profile for the advertised opportunity to gain more insight into the role responsibilities. The position profile will include the specific selection criteria e.g. skills levels, qualifications and experience.
All applications will be forwarded to the relevant Human Resources representative and will be treated with confidentiality and sensitivity.
On successful short listing of a candidate's application, Sedgman will commence with the selection process. This involves identifying key skills and/or attributes required for the position, and evaluating how the candidate meets the specified requirements. Sedgman’s assessment process may include some or all of the below activities:
- Behavioural based interviewing
- Psychometric testing
- References checking
- Assessment centre activities
- Pre-employment relevant checks
All assessment results are aimed to assist in the recruitment and selection process, and will be considered from a holistic perspective, and not in isolation. Sedgman’s recruitment and selection practices ensure that equality is applied throughout the entirety of the process.
Recommendation and Appointment
Once the selection panel has agreed to offer an appointment to a particular candidate, the Human Resources representative will make a verbal offer followed by an emailed offer of employment letter, which will be valid for a seven day period. A Sedgman offer pack will also be posted to the candidate's address, which will include all the relevant paperwork. The letter must be signed by the successful candidate and returned to the Human Resources department before any further appointment process can occur.
Once the successful candidate has accepted the position, the Human Resources representative will inform all unsuccessful candidates as soon as practical. Timely, factual and constructive feedback will be provided to any candidate upon request.
On commencement of your career with Sedgman you will participate in the Sedgman induction program, which is aimed at ensuring your early transition into our team is as seamless and informative as possible.
